BURUNDI BLACK Burundi Black (1971 UK 7" vinyl single with its
intact four-prong centre including both Parts One & Two -
French artist Michel Bernholc used the pseudonym Mike
Stephenson to adapt an old field recording of drummers from
Burundi’smusical ensemble Ingoma Tribe, remixing it for the
Disco crowd. Malcolm McLaren loved it, Adam Ant sampled it and
Bow Wow Wow, Slits, PiL & Siouxie & The Banshees all led the
wave of the Burundi post-punk beat. The vinyl looks barely
played issued in a plain die-cut paper sleeve BAR3)
