Here we have one of Duke's triumphant returns to the hallowed stage of New York's Carnegie during the forties. This concert offered the premier of the new extended work entitled The Perfume Suite, but had as its real highlight several brilliant, fully-developed segments of 1943's Black, Brown and Beige.
