issue of the 1967 5-track stereo LP pressed on heavyweight
vinyl, originally recorded in 1960. This album features
Coltrane & Cherry with Charlie Haden & Ed Blackwell [three
quarters of OrnetteColeman's quartet] plus Percy Heath of the
Modern Jazz Quartet, the earliest example of Coltrane's
improvisational style meeting Coleman's blues-based style.
Housed in a single pocket picture sleeve, the sleeve shows
some sticker residue in the top corner and the vinyl shows
some cosmetic wisps not impacting play SD1451)
