The second in the series of illustrated vinylreleases, this edition presents the album with entirely new artwork designed by Glasgow-based studio Timorous Beasties. The new artwork for front, rear and inner sleeves continues the common theme of the original, the escape of Harry Houdinithanks to his wife passing him the key to the padlock via a kiss. The records are all pressed on 180-gram vinyl at the world-renowned Record Industry plant in the Netherlands. New lacquers were cut from the 2018 remasters by Bernie Grundman and overseen by mastering engineer James Guthrie.
After Kate's production assistance on Lionheart, and her co-production of Never for Ever with Jon Kelly, The Dreaming was the first album Kate produced on her own. The album peaked at No. 3 on the U.K. album chart and has been certified silver-selling by the British Phonographic Industry.
