TRACKLISTING AND EXTRA INFORMATION
1. I Wanna Be Your Man
2. Stoned
I Wanna Be Your Man was the very first Rolling Stones single to be manufactured and released in Japan.
This is the 1967 second issue of the original 'pink sleeve' design [first released in 1964] with an increased market rate of ¥370 printed on the reverse in the bottom right-hand corner.
The picture sleeve is a unique Japanese-only design and depicts all five band members in a classic '3 seated - 2 standing' pose against a pink coloured background.
The yellow London label has a slight alternative design to its original '64 counterpart, with the 'ffrr' logo now shifted top middle above 'London' and the large centre hole. The labels are clean and shiny both sides. Written by Paul McCartney, the label actually credits "Lemon, McCarthy" as songwriters.
Manufactured by King Records, Japan, the vinyl is 42-years old but miraculously remains in near MINT condition. Under bright light and careful inspection there is just one tiny hairline on the second side to suggest this has ever been near a record player in its life!
The picture sleeve is in staggering condition for its age, with little to no fading and just the lightest small paper creasing which is very minor - the print to both sides still looks as fresh as the day it was made. The sleeve is printed in black, white and pink with artist and song titles in both English and Japanese. On the reverse is a catalogue list for other releases in the Japanese 'Hit Series' printed in black on white. In the bottom right corner is the ¥370 price marker indicating a '67 second issue.
Last but not least, the vinyl is housed in its original die-cut turquoise company sleeve, which is immaculate.
This, their debut single in Japan, is regarded as one of the rarest Stones Japanese 7'' releases. Grab it while you can!
