WALTER PARDON A Proper Sort (1975 UK 11-track LP by the
singing Carpenter from Knapton in Norfolk, singing a selection of
traditional songs passed down through his family & learned over
a roaring fire or a glass of ale at the pub. With a great many of
our traditional songs threatening to be lost to the mists of time,
the commiting to record of one with such an extensive repertoire
may help to keep a few alive as their native environment
continues to shrink at an alarming rate. For that, once again,
thanks must go to Bill Leader, along with Peter Bellamy. The
gatefold picture sleeve has the lyrics to all of the pieces
performed inside. The sleeve shows some mild shelfwear,
commensurate with its twenty five years in the wild, but the vinyl
remains in excellent condition - A nice copy of this rare album!
