TRACKLISTING AND EXTRA INFORMATION
Background & Condition :-

The album was released on August 5, 1967 in mono and one month later it was released in stereo. The album's name comes from the title of the seventh chapter of Kenneth Grahame's 'The Wind in the Willows'!

There are significant differences between the stereo & mono mixes.

Subtle changes in effects abound, moment to moment gradations that can alter the flow of an entire track. For example, Syd Barrett’s whoops and shouts on 'Take Up Thy Stethoscope And Walk'. The coda of 'Flaming' is longer than on the mono version, as is 'The Gnome'. 'Interstellar Overdrive' is without the bongo fadeout of the mono mix and there are seriously different parts
in 'Pow R Toch H'.

The Sleeve :-

The Ernest J. Day & Co. sleeve is dated 6709, with the second variant 'File Under POPULAR: Pop Groups' text on the top flipback. Complete with the original advert inner, this is a beautiful one previous owner copy. The sleeve is fantastic looking, with bright clear laminate, secure flipbacks, incredible off white back panel, a glorious looking spine, & just a spot of mild age yellowing creeping in to a few corners & a couple of small creases to the spine. It's the best looking example we've seen in ages.

The Label :-

The labels are the desirable blue & black variety, with 'Sold In UK' & 'Gramophone Co' label text, & the KT tax code on side 1. The labels show only light spindle wear indicating only light play during its lifetime.
The matrix numbers read :

YAX 3419-1 On Side One
YAX 3420-1 On Side Two

The Disc :-

The vinyl is beautiful. There are just a couple of very light paper scuffs from where it has been taken in & out of the sleeve. A staggering copy in wonderful condition.

Highly recommended all round & the perfect upgrade copy.
