TRACKLISTING AND EXTRA INFORMATION
A1. First Movement
A2. Second Movement: Andante Part 1
B1. Second Movement: Andante Conclusion
B2. Third Movement
In chronological terms this original LP is actually a second issue. The very first Japanese pressings of Concerto For Group And Orchestra were made by Toshiba Musical Industries, on red wax, but these were very quickly withdrawn after Toshiba were told they did not have permission to release the album. This created an instant rarity and in the past 20 years we've only seen 2 copies of the Toshiba pressing, and the one copy we had was actually a test pressing! The other was so expensive (into the £ thousands!) that we didn't buy it.
Whilst the Toshiba pressing is probably the most desirable issue to get hold of, this original Warner-Pioneer pressing is still the first official release and, with the square shaped 'Rock Age' obi, it's still near impossible to find complete and in near Mint condition. At over 30 years of age, it's not actually the record that's the hard part to get; as usual it's the all-important slim strip of paper that makes an original 1970 issue with the 'Rock Age' obi such a scarce item to find.
