GENTLE GIANT Octopus (1972 UK first press Vertigo 'swirl'
label 8-track LP, the formidable fourth album which marked
the last involvement of eldest Shulman brother Phil & the first
outing for third drummer John Weathers who stayed with the
band thereafter, engineered by Martin Rushent [T-Rex, Yes,
Buzzcocks, Stranglers], this is a cult classic among prog fans.
Includes the brain-melting complexity of 'Knots', full of
interlocking vocal harmonies wedded to bold symphonic rock
sounds. The gatefold sleeve is a classic Roger Dean design &
complete with the die-cut swirl inner. The cover is Excellent
with the lightest signs of shelf/ringwear, however the vinyl is
super clean with barely a hint of play. Highly recommended)
