It is quite fair to say that this copy has been 'well loved' over the last forty five years & looks like it. It went through the Mods, the Blues Revival, the Parties, the Glam era, Punk ... And it looks the part. Visually it exhibits a multitude of surface marks & several light scratches, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality. The sleeve has only minor wear with little discoloration to the non laminated back. This little fella has been around & is proud of it, much like the band themselves!
The good news is that the sleeve is complete, untorn & has no writing on it. More good news comes from the brick outhouse vinyl & long pressing times that they used in 1964. The vinyl play surface shows minimal signs of wear with just a few noticable spindle marks. The play surface is exceptional!
Labels - The colour of the labels are deep red with bright siver print. The Decca logo is 'unboxed' with 'Made In England By Decca Record Co' & 'Recording First Published...' lettering. The song credit for Honest I Do is Hurran, Calvert, and the mispelt title for You Can Make It If You Try NOT missing the word If out.
There are Several marks are evident around the spindle area on either side of the label - This disc was made to be played!
Vinyl - The 'Tell Me' track is the longer version.
The tracklisting on the reverse of the sleeve & on the label lists Side 1 Track 4 as 'Mona' rather than 'I Need You Baby'.The vinyl displays has a few surface scuffs and hairlines to show for it's near 60 years. A great play copy!
Matrices read:
XARL-6271-2A on side 1 and XARL-6272-4A on side 2.
Sleeve - The front laminated flipback picture sleeve features the dark moody image that has become iconic. The colours are still unfaded & display no creases or scuffs.
A brilliant copy!
