Hank Jones, Sam Jones & Art Blakey. Autumn Leaves & Love
For Sale are among the most beautiful & contemporary
renditions ever recorded! A simply must-own for the jazz fan,

5. Dancing In The Dark

Sam Jones : Bass
Art Blakey : Drums
This incredible rarity comes from a one-previous owner collection of jazz LPs that were purchased in the UK at the original time of release.
Label Design: -
With 'Inc' & 'R' lettering after 'Blue Note'. Deep groove with '47 West 63rd - NYC' address.
This beautiful second variant collector's copy was pressed just after "Blue Note Records" became an incorporated company & a registered trademark. The same fine sound as the 47W63rds pressings without the 'INC' and 'R' on the labels is present. We have play tested this record & the sound is immense, there is no doubt about that. This copy must come from an early batch of the second run with stampers originating from the same Matrix/ mothers as the original 47W63rds previously mentioned.
A combination of Van Gelder's sound engineering & Plastylite pressing [with or without the 'R'], this is well & truly the 'golden age' of highest quality, Blue Note pressings.
Condition : -
Obtained from a one previous owner collection, with all records bought in England from new as rare exotic imports at the time as the UK tax stickers to the reverse attest, the heavyweight pasted laminate sleeve is in beautiful shape. Clean, with rich, vivid colours & all text clearly legible, the card is still wonderfully rigid with only a little laminate peeling at the opening edge and a series of 5 small chips to the top edge to detract. The company catalogue inner is included
The colours of the labels are bright and vivid with no tears to the print. There is a 'deep groove' visible both sides.
The vinyl has been professionally cleaned and has come up looking sparkling. It was already looking amazing prior to the clean! Under a bright light, there are very few signs of play indeed. Wonderful stuff & easily in the 'excellent' condition bracket, we have to say there really is no other way to own this - you've got to get a first pressing mono to hear the difference...
This Blue Note release is an acknowledged masterpiece. It should not be missing from any jazz or serious music collection for that matter. Trust us, you won't be disappointed!
