TRACKLISTING AND EXTRA INFORMATION
1. I Wanna Be Your Man
2. Stoned
I Wanna Be Your Man was the very first Rolling Stones single to be manufactured and released in Japan.
This is the original 'pink sleeve' first issue from 1964 with the ¥330 price code printed on the reverse in the bottom right-hand corner.
The sleeve is a unique Japanese-only design and depicts all five band members in a classic '3 seated - 2 standing' pose against a pink surround, completely different to the 'red sleeve' second issue that was released in Japan in 1967.
These yellow London labels for the '64 original have an alternative design to their '67 counterpart, with the 'ffrr' logo to the left middle of the large centre hole. The labels are clean and shiny both sides. Written by Paul McCartney, the label actually credits "Lemon, McCarthy".
Manufactured by King Record, Japan, the vinyl is 50-years old but miraculously remains in oustanding condition. Under bright light, the A-side shows barely any signs of play. The b-side reveals just a small handful of light paper hairline scuffs which have little to no effect on play.
The picture insert is, once again, in staggering condition for its age, with just the faintest signs of wear & no fading or tears of any kind - the print to both sides still looks as fresh as the day it was made. The sleeve is printed in black, white and pink with artist and song titles in both English and Japanese. On the reverse is a catalogue list for other releases in the Japanese 'Hit Series' printed in black on white. In the bottom right corner bares the all important ¥330 price marker.
Last but not least, the vinyl is housed in its original die-cut pink & black flipback sleeve, which, again, shows few signs of being half a century old.
This, their debut single in Japan, is regarded as the rarest Stones Japanese 7'' release. What's more, it is in amazing condition.
Who knows if this one will ever show up for sale again!!
