THROBBING GRISTLE The Second Annual Report (Very rare
1977 UK limited edition [of only 785 copies] 9-track vinyl LP
on the black & white Industrial Records label, recorded on
September 3rd that year, housed in the title stickered plain
white sleeve with the sleeve notes sticker to the reverse as
well as 'IR0002' penned to the top corner. This copy also
comes with the red & black 'T.G.' lightning flash sticker
attached to the front of the sleeve. Also included is the
original zeroxed 'Technical Note' strip [Ref:IR002], advising
that you turn up your stereo to get the full effect of this
recording!
But that is not all, this example also includes a 'Music From The Death Factory' folded poster, 'Can you fix us up with a gig?' postcard and two booklets full of copied press cuttings from 1977 & 78. Please see below for more details.)
TRACKLISTING AND EXTRA INFORMATION
LP Condition
The sleeve shows a little light discolouration, the 'Technical Note' strip has some creases and signs of age, although nothing too severe. There is even a 'Nothing Short Of A Total War' sticker attached to the company inner. The vinyl itself is near mint. A superb copy which would be VERY hard to top!
The Poster
Music From The Death Factory
Super, super rare & limited 1980 UK vintage 23.5" x 16.5" concert poster, printed on thick white paper stock in foreboding black & white. The terrifying image on the poster is of an unspecified Nazi death camp, & we can confirm that it was the first official TG poster, with 'death factory' being the name of the band's studio in Hackney, situated near the plague burial pits in London Fields. It was also the title of one of their first cassette only releases in 1976. This poster was made in very small quantities, printed exclusively by Walker Prints, & their London printers name & telephone number can be seen bottom right. The poster has been folded twice for storage. Other than a small area of discolouration to the middle fold, there are few other signs of age. If there was ever a forthcoming TG/Industrial exhibition, you would want this poster to be there!
Postcard
From 1977, featuring a photo credited to Monte Cazazza, of somone injecting themself, with a contact address on the back and 'Can you fix us up with a gig?' text. This displays minimal wear or signs of age.
Booklets
Both booklets feature press cuttings from various music magazines like Sounds and NME. Put together by the Industrial Music record label and used to help promote the band. Both remain in a fantastic condition.
