JAN HAMMER GROUP Oh, Yeah? (1976 US 8-track LP. Fantastic UK Nemperor Records pressing of Jan Hammer’s dynamic 1976 album “Oh, Yeah?”, the celebrated keyboard virtuoso’s second solo effort following his tenure with the Mahavishnu Orchestra. Blending high-energy jazz fusion with funk and rock elements, Hammer showcases his dazzling synth work, inventive arrangements and genre-defying creativity throughout. Highlights include the electrifying title track ‘Oh, Yeah?’, the moody and atmospheric ‘Bambu Forest’, the driving ‘One To One’, and the intricate ‘Evolove’, all featuring Hammer’s signature Moog and electric piano interplay, supported by stellar performances from Fernando Saunders on bass and Tony Smith on drums. The picture sleeve displays a little shelfwear and some discolouration to the rear panel, whilst the vinyl remains in excellent condition, clean and glossy with little evidence of play. A top-notch slice of mid-’70s fusion brilliance from one of the genre’s true innovators. K50276)
