MARION BROWN Mario Brown Quartet (1967 UK 3-track stereo LP on the steel blue & silver Fontana label, the altoist's debut as a leader for the cult ESP-Disk label in New York, featuring Alan Shorter [trumpet], Benny Maupin [saxophone], Ronnie Boykins & Reggie Johnson [bass], plus Rashied Ali [drums]. This is an outrageous & fiery free jazz set, both vital for its historical context & spiritually charged freedom of expression. The sleeve is fully laminated & aside from a little lightcreasing dotting around the edges, shows minimal wear. The vinyl looks barely played SFJL930)
