NORMAN COOK/VARIOUS Revolution (2009 US issue promotional 12-track CD album - When executive producers Zack Winfield and Ado Yoshizaki travelled in Cuba for the first time, they were struck with the extraordinary talent of the young musicians they found there. What they also noticed is that many of the younger generation of players were stranded in a kind of musical limbo. Uninterested in the endless Buena Vista re-treads which abound in the tourist centers, many musicians lacked a musical homebase. The Revolution project unites several of the most promising musicians Winfield and Yoshizaki encountered with producers like Norman Cook [aka Fatboy Slim], Rich File [UNKLE], Poet Name Life [Black Eyed Peas], Guy Sigsworth [Bjork], Marius De Vries [Sugarcubes], and Cameron McVey & Jan Kybert [Massive Attack] for an album which combines Cuban musical tradition with Western production techniques and styles. Guests on the album include Roisin Murphy, Orishas, Lateef The Truthspeaker & more. Custom printed disc issued in a custom printed picture sleeve RR0081CD)
