DAVID BOWIE David Bowie (Legendary 1967 UK first press 14-track deep groove mono vinyl LP released on 1 June 1967 for Deram Records, the same week as The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, front laminated picture sleeve. See 'more info' for full condition details of this highly desirable Bowie original... DML1007)

TRACKLISTING AND EXTRA INFORMATION
Bowie's biographer, David Buckley, once described this record's status as "the vinyl equivalent of the madwoman in the attic"! The first album has been repackaged so many times that for any collector & historian, the eponymous debut is best heard in its original format, found here, for it provides the best picture into Bowie's world & future universes.

Original UK Mono Tracklist:-
Side A
1 Uncle Arthur
2 Sell Me A Coat
3 Rubber Band
4 Love You Till Tuesday
5 There Is A Happy Land
6 We Are Hungry Men
7 When I Live My Dream

Side B
1 Little Bombardier
2 Silly Boy Blue
3 Come And Buy My Toys
4 Join The Gang
5 She's Got Medals
6 Maid Of Bond Street
7 Please Mr. Gravedigger

Condition :-

Obtained from a one owner collection and a former editor of a UK music magazines, the sleeve is front laminated & retains glorious, rich colours with its striking portrait image losing none of its impact. Due to its thin nature, the sleeve has some minor corner creasing, with a 15mm tear on the opening edge.
The back cover is in striking monochrome with no major defects that upset the print. The spine is clearly legible with no splits. Easily hitting a Very Good grade.

Labels:
The condition of the labels are very clean with no writing or tears. These are the original brown & white design with 'Made In England' along the top, upside down printed matrices above the catalogue number & a deep groove both sides. There are a couple of small spindle marks by the centre hole to show play.

Machine Stamped Matrices:
Side One: ARL-7754-1B
Side Two: ARL-7755-1B

Vinyl:
Both sides have been professionally cleaned. Both sides have a nice deep sheen.
We have play tested the whole record. We would recommend flicking your sound system over to the mono setting, as this is a genuine Mono original, thus obliterating surface noise from the stereo field, or at least centralising it & minimising any cause of interference. The album plays extremely well with no distortion & the sound quality is Excellent. In the quieter sections there is the odd faint, quiet crackle. There are no scratches, no jumps or sticks, & only one or two faint paper hairline scuffs of no consequence.
By no means mint, this example is as nice as you are likely to find for a record that sold so very poorly on release, the album's failure even cost Bowie his record contract with Deram!
